Each
account is set up with the POP3 email address of: domain@domain.com
(or net, etc) -- any "aliases" will be automatically routed
through this address. For instance, if someone wrote to test@yourdomain.com
then it would automatically be filtered to your master account. You
can configure these aliases to be handled specially (forwarded, etc.)
by configuring it in your Plusmail Web Control Panel in the USER MANGER
Section. Note: Occasionally, when attempting to add a user name through
the User Manager Section in the WebControl Panel, you may get an error
that the user name exists. If this happens, please see instructions
here that describe a quick solution.
NOTE:
YOUR POP3 EMAIL WILL NOT WORK UNTIL THERE IS AN ASSOCIATION BETWEEN
OUR SERVERS AND YOUR DOMAIN NAME.
You
can get shareware versions of certain email packages as follows:
Outlook
Express - bundled with Microsoft Internet Explorer
Netscape Messenger - bundled with Netscape Navigator
Eudora Lite
The
general settings for your POP3 email accounts are as follows, using
example.com as a sample domain name and using the master account (example@example.com)
to illustrate:
Email
address: whatever@example.com
POP3 Mail server: example.com
SMTP Server: example.com
Account name (user login ID): example (no .com on end)
